  • Air Fryer Veggies

    Using an Air Fryer to cook vegetables is quick—and the healthy results are delicious! In this class Kirsten will demonstrate a variety of recipes using in-season local and/or commonly available vegetables including Lemon Pepper Broccoli, Miso Sesame Kale Chips, and Roasted Sweet Potatoes. Participants will receive an extensive handout along with the link to join prior to class. There will be ample time for questions during the session, and participants will receive a link to the recording afterwards so you can follow along at your convenience.
  • Sound Bath, Breathing and Relaxation Meditation

    Sound baths is a therapeutic practice that uses sound to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. The crystal bowls and other instruments provide a soothing and meditative sound. We will have essential oils and bio tuning smudging before the session starts. The sound bath sessions create a calming and relaxing environment that helps to reduce stress, anxiety, and tension. Skills/Bring: No additional skills required. Bring a mat or blanket and wear loose comfortable clothes and water. A signed waiver is required. Theresa Charpentier has been practicing yoga for over 35 years. She is a certified yoga instructor and sound bath practitioner.

    In this class we will learn and discuss the roles, responsibilities, and liabilities of a person who is appointed as the Executor, Trustee, Power of Attorney, HealthCare Agent and Guardian in Minnesota. This class is invaluable for those trying to decide whom to appoint as well as for those who have been asked to take one of these legal roles. We will discuss common experiences and pitfalls of serving as an Executor and answer questions like: What is involved in opening an estate? How much court time is required? What is involved in closing the probate and preparing the final accounting? This class encourages questions. We will provide the answers.

    Hosted by Hastings Community Education and Hastings Area Senior Center We will have you “all shook up” as Elvis takes center stage to excite and delight an audience of all ages. Todd Anderson will be bringing his Elvis Aloha from Hawaii show to the Hastings Middle School stage. We hope to create a fun evening for participants of all ages! Dress in your Luau best! Advanced registration is required. Registration closes Monday, April 15th. Included in the price of your general admission ticket will be a surprise accessory and light refreshments. Snacks will be available for donation. Doors open at 6pm. These are general admission tickets, seats are not assigned. A portion of the event proceeds will support Fun, Friends & Fitness, our adults with disabilities programming.

    Safety is about the situation, self-awareness and self-defense. Learn the fundamentals, effective responses to practical situations and experience hands-on exercises. This class includes discussion on boundaries, saying 'no', de-escalation and the importance of taking care of ourselves. We will learn the most critical elements to keep us safe and practice self-awareness. We will also punch, kick, block, yell and more. Build a strong foundation for strength and confidence. Youth-focused, minimum age of 8 years old. Parents are welcome to watch
  • NEW! Happy Birds Suncatchers – Fused Glass Fun!

    Have fun with your friends and learn how to make your own fused glass Happy Birds Suncatchers! Each participant will select their special COE glass, hand cut and design 3 birds to place in the garden or special potted plant. Make 3 – keep one and give others as gifts! A great gift idea and a great way to spend some time with friends and family in a collaborative artisan environment. Make the fused glass birds in class. They will be brought back to the artist studio for fusing in a kiln at about 1400 degrees. Happy Birds will be delivered back to the Tilden Community Center, 310 River St, for pick up. Bring your creative ideas!

    With Mother’s Day right around the corner, it is a great time to do a mother/daughter activity! Or come and make a special gift to surprise the special gal in your life! Enjoy a relaxing time creating as many pieces as time allows. Colorful beads, charms and cords will be available to assist in your creation of bracelets, necklaces, earrings, and pendants. This class requires an adult to register with the child. Price is per each person attending since everyone will be making the jewelry.

  • Soccer Skills Camp with DASH Sports (Grades K-4)

    DASH Sports soccer camps provide players a well-rounded soccer experience covering a broad range of soccer skills training (dribbling, passing, shooting, & defense) and skill-based games. Players will be challenged and grouped at an appropriate level while receiving instruction in a fun, positive environment while learning values of ‘Respect, Hustle, and Pride’. Camp ends with a scrimmage on the final day. Athletes should bring a water bottle and a baseball glove (spikes and bats are optional). Baseballs and bats are provided.

    DASH Sports soccer Tykes camps provide players with an introductory experience to the game of soccer. Key elements of dribbling, passing, and shooting will be taught and practiced. Fun, skill-based games will be played to practice newly learned skills. Athletes should bring a water bottle (spikes and shin guards optional). Soccer balls are provided. Parent participation is required.

  • Drivers Education - Safeway Online class (May 13-29 2024)

    Online learning classes are taught by Safeway instructors. The State requires that students have a camera and microphone and be actively engaged with the instructor during each 3-hour class. If a student misses a lesson, they can make up that exact lesson by registering for a make-up lesson on their Safeway account. Blue cards would be mailed out to students after class is completed. The permit test is not provided during the class. Safeway would email the Zoom information and account verification email before the class begins.
  • Mini Tour: Barn Quilts of Carver County

    We are off to Waconia to explore Barn Quilts of Carver County MN. Made for barns, not beds, “barn quilts” are quilt patterns, drawn to scale and painted on wooden panels that are hung on exterior walls of historic barns. Measuring 8’ x 8’, they are impressive in size, appropriate for the front or side of a barn. We will also make a stop at a quilt shop. Fee includes: Transportation, lunch, tax, tip and tour.   • DRIVERS ED In-person (June 10-24, 2024)

    In-person classes are taught by licensed High School teachers. The State requires that students attend all 30 hours of the class. If they miss one class, they will need to make arrangements with the instructor to make it up and pay an additional fee. Blue cards are given out to students after class is completed. A practice permit test is provided during the class. Behind-the-wheel Instruction includes six hours of driving in private lessons. Their Driver's Education teacher will contact students to schedule their 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction, usually within six months after receiving their permit. Parent involvement is required to produce safe, responsible teen drivers and practice regularly with their student drivers. The state requires that students have a minimum of 50 hours of practice (15 hours at night). The practice time must be recorded on a state-approved Supervised Driving Log and presented at the road test. These classes are not required but qualify the parent to receive a certificate that allows their student reduced practice time (from 50 to 40 hours). HERE'S WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO! Successfully finish the classroom portion of Driver's Education. When completed, you will receive your blue card to take with you to the Driver's Exam Station to take your permit test. Also, bring: a primary identification, such as your birth certificate or passport a secondary identification, such as your school ID your Social Security card After passing your permit test, you will be issued your permit, which you need to have prior to starting behind the wheel. Behind the Wheel must be completed within two years after finishing the classroom.

    Join Laurie and head to Jackpot Junction in Morton for an overnight (receive $50 free play upon arrival). The next morning, we will depart and head to Granite Falls for a self guided tour of the Fagen WWII museum followed by a two hour stop at Prairie's Edge Casino for lunch. Fee includes: Transportation, double room, $50 free play and museum tour.

    Visit the gardens nestled along the Mississippi River in St. Cloud. The Virginia Rose Garden features a series of gardens reminiscent of European gardens. This is a self guided tour so wear comfortable footwear. Included is lunch at the Coyote Moon Grille. Meal includes: Entrée, popover, salad, side dish, beverage and dessert. After lunch, take a guided tour through Sterns County History Museum. Fee includes: Transportation, tours, lunch, tax and tip
