    Summer child care for school age children: Camp Horizons for those entering K-4th Grade and Big Shots for thoese entering 5th-6th Grade Important! Additional requests for dates a may be possible if space is available. No credit will be given for cancellations without a 2 week notice.     Canva is the perfect digital tool for beginners and novices! Open up a world of possibilities by learning how to use the easiest design website available all for free. In this class you will learn how to create designs from scratch or use templates with step-by-step guidance for any digital image you need. From online documents, business cards, email signatures and more, you'll leave this class with a practical guide to use Canva with confidence! Please note that each class is taught live online. If a student is unable to attend the live online training time, they can still register and watch the recording of the training at their convenience. Follow-up support is also included from the instructor and students are encouraged to reach out with questions at any time before or after the class has concluded.

Athletes benefit from training in agility, power, perseverance, and resilience; attributes that all athletes strive to improve. Our Conquer Rec Team is designed for youth, ages 6-9 of all experience levels. Our Rec Team will practice on real obstacles inspired by the tv show such as warped walls, salmon ladders, tilting ladders and so much more during their weekly practice. Rec Team members will learn the styles and techniques to develop their Ninja Skills with over 40 different obstacles! This 8 week long Rec Team consists of 6 practices and 2 competitions (week 4 and week 8).

  • DRIVERS ED In-person (June 10-24, 2024)

    In-person classes are taught by licensed High School teachers. The State requires that students attend all 30 hours of the class. If they miss one class, they will need to make arrangements with the instructor to make it up and pay an additional fee. Blue cards are given out to students after class is completed. A practice permit test is provided during the class. Behind-the-wheel Instruction includes six hours of driving in private lessons. Their Driver's Education teacher will contact students to schedule their 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction, usually within six months after receiving their permit. Parent involvement is required to produce safe, responsible teen drivers and practice regularly with their student drivers. The state requires that students have a minimum of 50 hours of practice (15 hours at night). The practice time must be recorded on a state-approved Supervised Driving Log and presented at the road test. A Parent Class sign-up can be found on hastingscommunityed.com or by calling 651-480-7671. These classes are not required but qualify the parent to receive a certificate that allows their student reduced practice time (from 50 to 40 hours). HERE'S WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO! Register TODAY for in-person Driver's Education at www.hastingscommunited.com, enter Driver's Ed in the search box; visit us at Tilden Community Center, 310 River Street; or call 651-480-7671. Successfully finish the classroom portion of Driver's Education. When completed, you will receive your blue card to take with you to the Driver's Exam Station to take your permit test. Also, bring: a primary identification, such as your birth certificate or passport a secondary identification, such as your school ID your Social Security card After passing your permit test, you will be issued your permit, which you need to have prior to starting behind the wheel. Behind the Wheel must be completed within two years after finishing the classroom.

If a student misses a lesson, they can make up that exact lesson by registering for a make-up lesson on their Safeway account. Blue cards would be mailed out to students after class is completed. The permit test is not provided during the class. Safeway would email the Zoom information and account verification email before the class begins.

    Hosted by Hastings Community Education and Hastings Area Senior Center We will have you “all shook up” as Elvis takes center stage to excite and delight an audience of all ages. Todd Anderson will be bringing his Elvis Aloha from Hawaii show to the Hastings Middle School stage. We hope to create a fun evening for participants of all ages! Dress in your Luau best! Advanced registration is required. Registration closes Monday, April 15th. Included in the price of your general admission ticket will be a surprise accessory and light refreshments. Snacks will be available for donation. Doors open at 6pm. These are general admission tickets, seats are not assigned. A portion of the event proceeds will support Fun, Friends & Fitness, our adults with disabilities programming.

This is an ideal course for people that are turning 65 or over 65 and coming off their employer medical plan as well as those currently enrolled in Medicare.
  • Extreme Robotics: Bionic Beasts (Grades 4-8)

    Students will program robots to move, act and think on their own. Discover the excitement of programming your creation to follow a command and watch it go. Our classes are fun, educational, and hands-on, teaching students the foundations of building and programming concepts. Students working in teams will then be challenged to morph their projects into better, stronger, or faster robots. Please bring lunch and a drink.
  • F.A.S.T. KIDS – Staying Safe While Home Alone (Ages 7+)

    First Aid and Safety Trained Kids is a 4-hour course for 7 - 10-year-olds. This course helps prepare children for staying safe at and away from home. Lessons cover basic first aid, water safety, vehicle safety, home emergencies, injury prevention, stranger and internet safety. Students will receive a book, handouts and a home first aid kit as part of the class. Bring snacks, a drink, a pencil, and colored pencils or markers.
  • Fantasy Football Class for Beginners

    This class will provide participants with the fundamentals of fantasy football. If you are new to fantasy football, this is the class for you! Participants will learn how to draft players (there will be a mock 4 round draft), understand important terms and abbreviations needed to succeed in fantasy football, be provided tools (websites) that make it fun and easy to compete week to week, and how to begin a league. Participants will learn how fun and easy fantasy football can be. Matt has been playing fantasy football since the 6th grade (37 years). Matt loves fantasy football and has seen how binding fantasy football can be between friends and family. Matt has a wonderful wife and a 13 year old son. They have two rescue dogs named Thor and Midnight. Matt has had Vikings season tickets since 1998. This is his 20th year as a special education teacher, and his 9th year in Saint Paul Public Schools.

  • Flag Football Camp Fueled by USA Football (Ages 6-12)

    Experience the excitement of football with Skyhawks Flag Football Fueled by USA Football. Using a curriculum developed by the experts from USA Football, coaches will teach skills like passing, receiving, kicking and flag pulling. Participants will gain confidence and learn important life lessons in a fun, positive environment. Plan to meet on the field by the middle school tennis courts. If there is inclement weather, camp will be moved to middle school south gym.
  • Flag Football Camp with DASH Sports (Grades 3-6)

    DASH Sports Summer Flag Football camps provide players with a well-rounded football experience in a little to no contact safe environment. Key elements of passing, catching, rushing, and defense will be taught and practiced daily, and players will be grouped and challenged at an appropriate level in a fun, positive environment while learning values of ‘Respect, Hustle, and Pride’. Camp ends with scrimmages/games the final day where players can showcase their skills. Athletes should wear sunscreen, and bring a water bottle and a snack (spikes/cleats, and mouthguards are optional). Flag belts, and football are provided.
