    You have heard the saying, "Use it or lose it" so we are offering the GRASP program this summer. GRASP is a correspondence program for grades K-8 which helps students maintain reading and math skills while they are on summer break. This program helps students retain skills learned during the past school year by providing review exercises. Students work on lessons weekly, send them in, and receive feedback from real educators. There is even an online option for 4th-8th grade. Order the grade level your student is in the process of completing. This is a review program, not intended for introducing new topics. Families save $10 when registering for both Math and Reading! Registration closes Sunday, April 28th. Materials can be sent to your child's school for distribution if they attend one of our public schools. If you do not attend one of our public schools, you will be notified when materials are available for pick up from Tilden Community Center.

  • Indoor Walk Program

    Sept 18, 2023 - June 6, 2024 HHS upper level indoor track M-F: 6:00-7:00 AM and 3:00-10:00 PM*Sat: 8 AM - 3PM* $20 per person per school year $10 for Senior Center Members and Adult with Disabilities Program Participants Enter through the upper doors of the high school and enjoy a walk in a temperature controlled environment. Walk passes can be purchased online but participants must pick up a physical pass and have their driver’s license scanned for a raptor badge at Tilden Community Center. Passes are not issued at the high school. Dates are subject to change. Walking during the school day is not permitted because we do not have staff to supervise the area and high school students are using the track during the school day. Please have your pass available when you enter the high school as district staff may ask to see it for verification. *Walk program letter will include building closed dates and all other necessary information. Tilden Community Center will be open for Raptor badges Monday-Thursday 7:30am-4:30pm and Friday 7:30am-4pm. Athletes benefit from training in agility, power, perseverance, and resilience; attributes that all athletes strive to improve. Our Conquer Rec Team is designed for youth, ages 6-10 of all experience levels. Our Rec Team will practice on real obstacles inspired by the tv show such as warped walls, salmon ladders, tilting ladders and so much more during their weekly practice. Rec Team members will learn the styles and techniques to develop their Ninja Skills with over 40 different obstacles! This 8 week long Rec Team consists of 6 practices and 2 competitions (week 4 and week 8).
  • DRIVERS ED In-person - Spring 2024

    In-person classes are taught by licensed High School teachers. The State requires that students attend all 30 hours of the class. If they miss one class, they will need to make arrangements with the instructor to make it up and pay an additional fee. Blue cards are given out to students after class is completed. A practice permit test is provided during the class. Behind-the-wheel Instruction includes six hours of driving in private lessons. Their Driver's Education teacher will contact students to schedule their 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction, usually within six months after receiving their permit. Parent involvement is required to produce safe, responsible teen drivers and practice regularly with their student drivers. The state requires that students have a minimum of 50 hours of practice (15 hours at night). The practice time must be recorded on a state-approved Supervised Driving Log and presented at the road test. A Parent Class sign-up can be found on hastingscommunityed.com or by calling 651-480-7671. These classes are not required but qualify the parent to receive a certificate that allows their student reduced practice time (from 50 to 40 hours). HERE'S WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO! Register TODAY for in-person Driver's Education at www.hastingscommunited.com, enter Driver's Ed in the search box; visit us at Tilden Community Center, 310 River Street; or call 651-480-7671. Successfully finish the classroom portion of Driver's Education. When completed, you will receive your blue card to take with you to the Driver's Exam Station to take your permit test. Also, bring: a primary identification, such as your birth certificate or passport a secondary identification, such as your school ID your Social Security card After passing your permit test, you will be issued your permit, which you need to have prior to starting behind the wheel. Behind the Wheel must be completed within two years after finishing the classroom.

    Have fun with your friends and learn how to make your own fused glass Garden Stakes! Each participant will select their special COE glass, hand cut and design 3 garden stakes to place in the garden or special potted plant. Make 3 – keep one and give others as gifts! A great gift idea and a great way to spend some time with friends and family in a collaborative artisan environment. Make the fused glass garden stakes in class. They will be brought back to the artist studio for fusing in a kiln at about 1400 degrees. Garden stakes will be delivered back to the Tilden Community Center, 310 River St, for pick up. Bring your creative ideas!
  • Baseball Camp with DASH Sports (Grades K-4)

    DASH Sports baseball camps provide players with a well-rounded experience in a fun environment. Key elements of throwing, fielding/catching, batting, and baserunning will be taught and practiced, and players will be grouped and challenged at an appropriate level in a fun, positive environment while learning values of ‘Respect, Hustle, and Pride’. Camp ends with a scrimmage on the final day. Athletes should bring a water bottle and a baseball glove (spikes are optional). Baseballs and bats are provided.
  • T-Ball Tykes with DASH Sports (Ages 3-5)

    Looking for a fun introduction to baseball? DASH Sports baseball tykes camp introduces players to key elements of throwing, fielding/catching, batting, and baserunning. The final day of classes is ‘Game Day’ and athletes will showcase their skills in a game environment. Athletes should bring a water bottle and a baseball glove. Baseballs and bats are provided. Parent participation is recommended as needed.
  • Middle School 5th and 6th Grade Intramural Rec Baseball (12 Sessions)

    Join Coach Pagel and Coach Bauer to play intramural recreation baseball. Beginners and experienced players are welcome to join in. There are no gender requirements, this is open to all. Students should bring a glove, water bottle, wear appropriate shoes and it is recommended male participants wear a protective cup. Registration is required. 5th and 6th graders will play on Mondays and Tuesdays for 12 sessions starting April 8-May 14 from 2:45-4:45 pm. In case of bad weather, students should listen to announcements to hear if rec baseball will be canceled or moved inside. An email will be sent to the parent email address on file. We may also extend the sessions to May 20th and 21st if necessary due to weather cancellations.

Theresa Charpentier has been practicing yoga for over 35 years. She is a certified yoga instructor and sound bath practitioner. She is currently completing her Ayurveda certification (January 2024).

  • Basic Cake Decorating (ages 12 and up)

    Learn the basics of decorating your own cakes. We will learn shell borders, writing and many ways to decorate your cake beautifully. Each student will take home their own 8'' boxed cake to enjoy. Be prepared the day of class to pay an additional food fee of $12 directly to the instructor. There will be optional starter kits available to take home for an additional $12.00 paid to the instructor. Class is open to ages 12 and up.

    Join Denise, an American Heart Association certified instructor, to learn infant, child, and adult CPR. Denise will also cover AED and choking. This course meets the requirements for the BLS Healthcare Provider and related positions as well as childcare providers.

  • Drivers Education - Safeway Online class (April 15-30, 2024)

    Online learning classes are taught by Safeway instructors. The State requires that students have a camera and microphone and be actively engaged with the instructor during each 3-hour class. If a student misses a lesson, they can make up that exact lesson by registering for a make-up lesson on their Safeway account. Blue cards would be mailed out to students after class is completed. The permit test is not provided during the class. Safeway would email the Zoom information and account verification email before the class begins.
  • Table or Sign Glass Mosaic(2 Sessions)

    Glass mosaic sounds like a fancy, difficult art form however in this class, you will learn how it can be fun, and easy while creating a table top or sign! Look through the idea book, browse the patterns and stencils, and choose from dozens of colors of precut glass. Sign ideas include Welcome, house number, last name, state of MN. Tables are 16”x16” and 16” tall and are $70 each. Signs vary in size and are $16-40 each.
