  • Indoor Walk Program

    Sept 18, 2023 - June 6, 2024 HHS upper level indoor track M-F: 6:00-7:00 AM and 3:00-10:00 PM*Sat: 8 AM - 3PM* $20 per person per school year $10 for Senior Center Members and Adult with Disabilities Program Participants Enter through the upper doors of the high school and enjoy a walk in a temperature controlled environment. Walk passes can be purchased online but participants must pick up a physical pass and have their driver’s license scanned for a raptor badge at Tilden Community Center. Passes are not issued at the high school. Dates are subject to change. Walking during the school day is not permitted because we do not have staff to supervise the area and high school students are using the track during the school day. Please have your pass available when you enter the high school as district staff may ask to see it for verification. *Walk program letter will include building closed dates and all other necessary information. Tilden Community Center will be open for Raptor badges Monday-Thursday 7:30am-4:30pm and Friday 7:30am-4pm.     In this class we will learn and discuss the roles, responsibilities, and liabilities of a person who is appointed as the Executor, Trustee, Power of Attorney, HealthCare Agent and Guardian in Minnesota. This class is invaluable for those trying to decide whom to appoint as well as for those who have been asked to take one of these legal roles. We will discuss common experiences and pitfalls of serving as an Executor and answer questions like: What is involved in opening an estate? How much court time is required? What is involved in closing the probate and preparing the final accounting? This class encourages questions. We will provide the answers.

    Hosted by Hastings Community Education and Hastings Area Senior Center We will have you “all shook up” as Elvis takes center stage to excite and delight an audience of all ages. Todd Anderson will be bringing his Elvis Aloha from Hawaii show to the Hastings Middle School stage. We hope to create a fun evening for participants of all ages! Dress in your Luau best! Advanced registration is required. Registration closes Monday, April 15th. Included in the price of your general admission ticket will be a surprise accessory and light refreshments. Snacks will be available for donation. Doors open at 6pm. These are general admission tickets, seats are not assigned. A portion of the event proceeds will support Fun, Friends & Fitness, our adults with disabilities programming.

A great gift idea and a great way to spend some time with friends and family in a collaborative artisan environment. Extra condiment dishes can be made in class and you can pay the instructor for supplies. Make the fused glass artwork in class. They will be brought back to the artist studio for fusing in a kiln at about 1400 degrees. Pick up will be at location about 1-2 weeks after the class event. Supplies and tools provided. Just bring your creative ideas! For $95 you will create a Large platter 7.25” x 13” and 1 condiment dish; For $199 you will create the Extra Large platter 9.75” x 15.75” and 2 condiment dishes.   • Introduction to Mandala Dotting

    In this introductory class, you will make 3 mandala paint dotted pieces of artwork. Turn them into your choice of magnets, pins or pendants. All supplies and dotting tools are provided for use. Painting will be done in class. Sealing and finishing work of your mandalas will be completed by the instructor and your artwork dropped back off at class event location within 1-2 weeks. No experience necessary for this class. Just have fun! Background: Mandala dot art is a pattern that is created with many small colorful dots. The pattern itself is usually quite simple and is constructed of several geometrical figures. The center is a dot, which is a symbol considered free of dimensions. It is interpreted as the starting point, the beginning of contemplation, and devotion. From there, the dot is surrounded by lines and geometrical patterns that symbolize the universe, encompassed by the outer circle which represents the cyclical nature of life. It is considered to be a therapeutic art and reflects the artist’s soul.
