Steve Ledin

Instructor

Steve is the founding member of Ledin Law PLLC, a small law firm located in the East Metro that specializes in two areas of the law: (i) estate planning and estate representation, and (ii) small business start-up and representation. Steve cut his legal teeth thirty years ago with his start in the legal profession at Moore, Costello & Hart PLLP, a twin cities based law firm that laid claim to being the oldest law firm in the State of Minnesota, founded in 1855. After a decade and a half practicing with the larger downtown law firm, Steve determined it was time for a change and determined he could better enhance his specialization and representation of his small business and estate planning clients as the smaller, narrowly tailored law firm of Ledin Law PLLC.
Steve practices extensively in the areas of estate planning and estate representation, drafting Wills and Trusts and specialized plans as well as an extensive practice in estate representation and the probate process. His services in estate planning services cover a wide spectrum of clients varying in estate size, value, and complexity from young couples starting a life together, up to large well-established estates of significant value and complexity.
Steve also practices in the area of small business/corporate transactional law, providing legal advice to startup and developing companies, as well as mature small to medium sized companies. In the transactional business area he provides services on a wide variety of legal matters including business formation; mergers and acquisitions; buy-sell agreements; contract review and negotiation, real estate purchasing/leasing; and business succession. He works with dozens families and active businesses of a wide variety on a daily and weekly basis.
Steve's skill, expertise and vast experience as an estate planning and business attorney is supplemented by his entrepreneurial spirit and extensive business operational experience, as well as his driving desire to provide education on these matters to all that may desire to learn. Steve teaches a host of community education classes in communities all over the State of Minnesota, including such favorites as: Why Not to Trust Your Trust, and How to Lose Your Business in 30 Days.
Steve graduated with a Juris Doctor (Magna Cum Laude) in 1997 from William Mitchell College of Law, after graduating from Saint Cloud State University and Macalester College with a Bachelor of Arts-Political Science (Summa Cum Laude).
Steve is the current President of the East Side Area Business Association and also serves on the boards of a number of closely held companies and Minnesota non-profit corporations.
