GRASP is a 9 week summer workbook program designed to reinforce math and reading skills learned during the 2o17-2018 school year. Designed to help students in grades K-8 maintain and enhance their reading and math levels during the summer months. The format also prepares students for the standardized testing environment. GRASP is a learning option for students to complete at home on their own schedules throughout the summer.It should take your child about one hour per week to complete each lesson. Then, mail answer sheets to the GRASP scoring center, where they are corrected and returned to you for review. Students who successfully complete the program receive a Certificate. Students completing all 9 weeks with a score of 70 percent or more receive a GRASP Medal. Awards are given in the Fall. A packet containing everything needed will be sent home with your child beforethe last week of school.NEW THIS YEAR! An online version of GRASP is available for grades 4th through 8th! Register online or specify preference when registering over the phone or in person with Hastings Community Education.Most parents order the grade level their child has just completed during 2017-2018 school year to review and maintain this year’s skills. If there are extenuating circumstances, order the level that is appropriate for your child. If you have specific questions or would like to see workbook samples/pages, they will be available at the Community Education office in Tilden Community Center, 310 River Street, Hastings.
