  • 3rd Annual Mala/Prayer Beads Workshop

    Walk away with a personally designed 54 or 108 bead mala handcrafted by YOU! Note: this requires small motor skills in hand tying the beads. We will cover the history and uses of malas and will touch briefly on meditation practices. Malas are known traditionally as prayer beads used in meditation in various cultures. Today, they have gained popularity not only for use in yoga and meditation, but are also worn for adornment as jewelry! A mala is a physical reminder of your personal intentions and affirmations. Use for daily meditation practice that invites an even deeper connection to living a grounded, soulful life. In the workshop, you will learn about the energetic meaning of the natural elements and gemstones as you are led through the creation of your very own mala. All supplies are provided.   • 4th Grade Guitar Lessons - Pinecrest

    Join us for guitar lessons taught by the Hastings Elementary Music Teachers: Emma Auby, Jonah Conway and Lisa Poncelet. This session is open to Pinecrest 4th graders and will be held in the Pinecrest Music Room from 7:15-7:45am. Students can arrive at 7am to tune and practice. On December 11th parents and teachers are encouraged to join us in the music room for a special informance starting at 7:30am. Be sure to select the appropriate option for if you need to borrow a guitar or not. We have 24 guitars available to borrow. *If you borrow a guitar, you are responsible to cover any costs regarding loss or damage of the guitar.
  • Adaptive Sports Skills Camp (Grades K-4)

    At Ability 2 Believe we believe the sky's the limit when it comes to our loved ones! We offer a sports program for special needs children, with a goal of helping children feel confident with their athletic and teamworking skills. This camp is open to any child in grades K-4 on an IEP or 504 plan. Parent participation is required as needed. A waiver will need to be signed prior to participating.   • Adult Conversational Spanish: Advanced Part 1 (Live Virtual)

    ¿Quieres mejorar tu español? Then this is the course for you! This advanced course is for students who have had previous Spanish classes and are looking to take their skills to the next level. Advanced Spanish will focus on the past tense (preterite and imperfect tenses) and more complex grammatical aspects of conversation including verb tenses and conjugations. Students will learn to express things they’ve done in the past in Spanish as well as broaden their conversational skills. Applicable to new students and previous Intermediate Spanish conversation participants. Ability to access zoom and basic working computer knowledge essential.
  • Adult Conversational Spanish: Beginner Part 1 (Live Virtual)

    Always dreamed of learning Spanish or refreshing your high school Spanish? Then this class is for you! The primary focus of the class will be on building conversational tools in Spanish through interactive practice and exercises. Vocabulary topics will include common greetings and introductions, pronunciation, numbers, food, clothing, likes and dislikes. Grammar topics will include subject pronouns, the verb estar conjugation, gender of nouns, and plurality. Participants will learn how to carry on small conversations in Spanish and each class will include interesting cultural anecdotes including Spanish word origin, dialect differences, and names in Spanish. Ability to access zoom and basic working computer knowledge essential.
  • Adult Spanish for Travel (Live Virtual)

    Do you have future aspirations for traveling to a Spanish speaking country? If so, this is the class for you! Participants learn basic conversation skills to get around a Spanish-speaking country with greater ease. This class will include helpful dialogue, greetings, how to barter at a market and order in a restaurant, and how to ask for simple directions. Each class will include a travel related theme to practice real world Spanish! Like all Futura classes, a dynamic and interactive approach will be used to keep the class fun and exciting! Applicable to new students and previous Spanish conversation participants.
  • Basketball Camp with DASH Sports (K-4)

    DASH Sports basketball camps provide players a well-rounded basketball experience covering a broad range of skills training and skill-based games. Players will be taught how to properly shoot, pass, dribble, and play defense in a fun and positive environment. Camp will end with scrimmages/games on the final day. Athletes should bring a water bottle. Balls are provided.

Parent participation is required for the 2-3yr old age group and recommended when needed for the 4+ year old age group.

  • Classic Fused Glass Christmas Ornament Class – Make 3 Ornaments!

    Have fun with your friends and learn how to make your own fused glass Christmas ornaments! Each participant will select their special COE glass, hand cut and design three (3) ornaments; a Snowman, a Santa and a Tree. A great gift idea and a great way to spend some time with friends and family in a collaborative artisan environment. Make the fused glass ornaments in class. They will be brought back to the artist studio for fusing in a kiln at about 1400 degrees. Ornaments will be delivered back to the shop for pick up. Artist: Theresa Charpentier. Athletes benefit from training in agility, power, perseverance, and resilience; attributes that all athletes strive to improve. Our Conquer Rec Team is designed for youth, ages 6-9 of all experience levels. Our Rec Team will practice on real obstacles inspired by the tv show such as warped walls, salmon ladders, tilting ladders and so much more during their weekly practice. Rec Team members will learn the styles and techniques to develop their Ninja Skills with over 40 different obstacles! This 8 week long Rec Team consists of 6 practices and 2 competitions (week 4 and week 8).

  • DRIVERS ED In-person SPRING 2025 (March 24, 26,31 April 2, 3, 7, 9, 10, 14, 16 2025)

    In-person classes are taught by licensed High School teachers. The State requires that students attend all 30 hours of the class. If they miss one class, they will need to make arrangements with the instructor to make it up and pay an additional fee. Blue cards are given out to students after class is completed. A practice permit test is provided during the class. Behind-the-wheel Instruction includes six hours of driving in private lessons. Their Driver's Education teacher will contact students to schedule their 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction, usually within six months after receiving their permit. Parent involvement is required to produce safe, responsible teen drivers and practice regularly with their student drivers. The state requires that students have a minimum of 50 hours of practice (15 hours at night). The practice time must be recorded on a state-approved Supervised Driving Log and presented at the road test. These classes are not required but qualify the parent to receive a certificate that allows their student reduced practice time (from 50 to 40 hours). HERE'S WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO! Also, bring: a primary identification, such as your birth certificate or passport a secondary identification, such as your school ID your Social Security card After passing your permit test, you will be issued your permit, which you need to have prior to starting behind the wheel. Behind the Wheel must be completed within two years after finishing the classroom.

    Hosted by Hastings Community Education and Hastings Area Senior Center. Todd Anderson will be bringing his Dazzling Neil Diamond tribute show to the Hastings Middle School stage. Experience Neil Diamond’s hits such as “Sweet Caroline” and “America” as Todd brings a celebration of this musical icon. This is a fun evening for participants of all ages! Advanced registration is required. Registration closes Wednesday, May 7th. The price includes a general admission ticket, seats are not reserved. Doors open at 6pm.
