  • Fun, Friends & Fitness: Rivertown Fishing & Boating

    Meet at the dock in Prescott to board the pontoon. Please arrive 15-30 minutes early. Join Kurt Graumann, Jaci Hansey and your friends for a fun time on the river. Fishing License required only if you plan on fishing (catch and release): In order to get a permanent Angler License you must have a current letter from Social Security stating Disability or SSI Benefits. There is no FEE. You must get this license through the DNR License agent or DNR License Center. If you do not plan to fish, you do not need a license. The outing is free, but you must register with Community Education by calling 651-480-7670. (Staff/caregiver must also register as there is only room for 10 on the boat.
  • Fused Glass Large Plate or Bowl Making Art Class

    Have fun with your friends and family and make your own 9x9 Plate or Bowl – Show your creative flair and bring your great ideas to life in this fun class. You will select special COE glass, hand cut and design your own plate or bowl. There will be lots of different types of colors and nuggets to make something special. Make your piece of art at class and pick up your treasure 1-2 weeks later. Supplies and tools provided. Just bring your creative ideas! Theresa Charpentier has over 20 years of fused glass, mosaic and stained glass artistry experience.

    You have heard the saying, "Use it or lose it" so we are offering the GRASP program this summer. GRASP is a correspondence program for grades K-8 which helps students maintain reading and math skills while they are on summer break. This program helps students retain skills learned during the past school year by providing review exercises. Students work on lessons weekly, send them in, and receive feedback from real educators. There is even an online option for 4th-8th grade. Order the grade level your student is in the process of completing. This is a review program, not intended for introducing new topics. Families save $10 when registering for both Math and Reading! Registration closes Sunday, April 28th. Materials can be sent to your child's school for distribution if they attend one of our public schools. If you do not attend one of our public schools, you will be notified when materials are available for pick up from Tilden Community Center.

    Let your imagination grow wild as you enter the imaginary world of garden gnomes! Create several whimsical furnishings to lure gnomes into the garden such as stools, a pond, walkways, a gnome house and more! Live plants will also be added to your garden and include take home care instructions. All supplies and material will be provided. A portion of this class may be held outdoors, weather permitting.
  • Gelli Plate Printmaking

    Gelli prints are a fresh twist on monoprinting. You will learn about nontraditional printmaking, then create a series of unique prints from gelatin plates combining natural materials, stencils and paint. This method allows for experimenting with layers as well as exploring natural shapes and textures.
  • Gentle Yoga by Candlelight

    Dynamic Vinyasa Yoga class designed especially for the beginner, illuminated by candlelight. Vinyasa connects the movement with the breath to create a continuous flow of postures. The breath guides you through this class is composed of creative sequences intended to provide you with strength, flexibility, and peace for the mind, body, and spirit. Yoga poses can be modified to fit your skills. Please bring a yoga mat and water.

    Let your creativity fly free while you customize a whimsical birdhouse! Design ideas will be available for you to look through, or you can create your own. Several options of colorful pre-cut stained glass, glass tiles, mirrors, and glass gems will be available to adorn your house with. The sky’s the limit for decorating these adorable 10-inch wooden birdhouses. This class is perfect for all skill levels. No glass cutting or experience is required. All supplies and tools will be provided. Supplies and instructions to grout projects will be sent home with participants. (Birdhouse style and glass colors may vary depending on availability).

Plan to meet on the field by the middle school tennis courts. If there is inclement weather, camp will be moved to the middle school north gym.

  • Growing and Cooking with Sun (Grades K-6)

    The sun is your best friend if you know how to use it! This class teaches how to cook with just the sun. Solar cooking bypasses traditional cooking means. No electricity, gas, charcoal, or wood needed for solar cooking. Students will learn how to cook meals, dry food for preservation, and purify water all with the sun. In the end, students will build their own mini sun oven and take home an edible micro green plant.

    This course will teach you about the top plants that can be used for the scrapes, bruises, bites and burns that occur so often during the summer! We will discuss herbs, where to find them, what conditions they treat, and how to safely use them. These are the plants that you will be glad to have on hand. This beginner level course is a great place to start if you are curious about herbal medicine with remedies you will be sure to use.
