  • Cartoon Blast! (Grades K-6)

    Got a child with a big imagination and a great sense of humor? They’ll love this two-day Young Rembrandts Cartoon Workshop! Students will transform everyday objects into lively characters, give pets a hilarious cartoon twist, invent amazing aliens from faraway worlds, and even discover how drawing toys can be just as much fun as playing with them. Two days of creativity, laughter, and cartooning fun—don’t miss it!
  • GRASP

    Do you want to help your child maintain reading and math skills over summer break? GRASP is an at-home program used by families throughout the U.S. for 50 years! Children finishing Kindergarten to 8th grade receive a packet of materials with a booklet. This booklet has 9 units of review exercises to be completed each week. Each lesson takes about one hour to complete. You mail scan sheets to GRASP for scoring and we will email lesson results back. Or parents can score scan sheets with their cell phones instead of mailing them in! Parents will receive an email with more information after the registration is processed. SUGGESTED RETURN DATE FOR FIRST LESSON IS JUNE 12TH ALL LESSONS MUST BE POSTMARKED BY AUGUST 7TH Children in grades 4 to 8 can choose to do GRASP online instead of using the book and scan sheets. The results of each question are shown immediately. If your child successfully completes at least 7 units with 70% accuracy are awarded a certificate. Those successfully completing all 9 units with 70% accuracy receive a medal (one per child). Results will be shared with your school, and they will distribute certificates and medals. The cost is $39 for one subject or $68 for both subjects for each child. Order the grade level they are just completing so they can review or order a different level if that is appropriate for your child. To register, complete the enrollment with Hastings Community Ed no later April 28, 2026 at 9am. All materials will be sent home with your child by the last week of school if they attend one of the Hastings Public Schools or you can choose to pick up the materials for Tilden Community Center. Online logins will be emailed.
  • Grossology with KidScientific (4-9 years)

    Get ready for the hilariously gross world of Grossology! Kids will craft snot slime erupting from a clay nose and create colorful gummy worm bacteria in a petri dish. This hands-on class is packed with gross-out science, messy fun, and fascinating facts that kids will love! Please pack a nut-free snack and drink for your child.
  • Mosaic Madness - Beginner/Family Friendly

    Have you always wanted to try mosaics but did not know where to start? Then this family friendly class is for you! You will adorn your choice of a fun 7-inch wood shape with beautiful randomly cut stained glass, gems, tiles and mirrors. Design ideas will be offered, or we will help you create your own unique design! Mosaic techniques and tips will be provided, as well as all tools and supplies. This is a no cut class; therefore, glass and tile supply colors may vary depending on availability. This class is open to all ages; however, elementary-aged children must be accompanied by an adult. Please state the shape you would like to make when registering. Choices include mushroom, llama, cat or triceratops dinosaur. Price is per shape so you can make 1 as a couple, or each make your own.

Each time you visit The Craft Lab, you'll discover a brand new menu of exciting art projects. From fantastic canvas paintings to whimsical crafts to fleece tie pillows, there's always something new and exciting to explore. Pick your favorite project (or two, or three if time allows and you’ve completed your first project!) and let your imagination soar! In just over one hour, you'll have the chance to dive into the projects that spark your creativity and make as much as time allows once you’ve completed a project.
