  • A2B Adaptive Summer Activity Camp (entering grades 1-5)

    Ability 2 Believe is offering a 4 day summer camp for students on an IEP or 504 plan. Students will have fun learning and playing alongside their peers. The camp offers a variety of activities such as arts and crafts, special activities and outdoor playtime. The adaptive camp will be held at McAuliffe August 11th-14th from 9:30am-11:30am.
  • Boho Tie Dye Party (Grades 1-5)

    Create your own vibrant and unique tie-dyed accessories just in time for summer! Play with a variety of colors as you customize a boho shoulder bag, headband and scarf. Step by step instructions and a take home bag will be included. To add some shimmer and shine to the party you will pick from dozens of choices of glitter tattoos to wear home. (Tattoos are applied with cosmetic glue and glitter). And it wouldn’t be a party without dance music and a tie dye cupcake! (Gluten, nuts, and other ingredients will be used during this class). Dress for the mess and join the party!
  • Foam, Slime & Potions with KidScientific (5-12 years)

Our hands-on camp will immerse your child into the enchanting realm of foam, slime, and potions, as we unravel the secrets of science. Prepare to concoct elixirs that magically change color, create your own bouncy balls, and whip up some homemade PopRocks that fizz in your mouth. Each experiment combines the perfect blend of creativity and scientific exploration. And while having a blast, you’ll uncover a wealth of scientific facts and theories, transforming learning into a bubbling cauldron of pure excitement!     Weaving can be a complex process. In this workshop, you will learn how to construct a simple loom using repurposed materials, and create a colorful, unique weaving using a variety of yarns.
  • GRASP

    Do you want to help your child maintain reading and math skills over summer break? GRASP is an at-home program used by families throughout the U.S. for 50 years! Children finishing Kindergarten to 8th grade receive a packet of materials with a booklet. This booklet has 9 units of review exercises to be completed each week. Each lesson takes about one hour to complete. You mail scan sheets to GRASP for scoring and GRASP will email lesson results back. Or, NEW THIS YEAR, parents can score scan sheets with their cell phones instead of mailing them in! Parents will receive an email with more information after the registration is processed. SUGGESTED RETURN DATE FOR FIRST LESSON IS JUNE 13TH ALL LESSONS MUST BE POSTMARKED BY AUGUST 8TH Children in grades 4 to 8 can choose to do GRASP online instead of using the book and scan sheets. The results of each question are shown immediately. If your child successfully completes at least 7 units with 70% accuracy are awarded a certificate. Those successfully completing all 9 units with 70% accuracy receive a medal (one per child). Results will be shared with Hastings Community Education, and they will distribute certificates and medals. The cost is $39 for one subject or $68 for both subjects for each child. Families save $10 when registering for both Math and Reading! Order the grade level they are just completing so they can review or order a different level if that is appropriate for your child. To register, enroll no later April 25, 2025. All materials will be sent home with your child by the last week of school if they attend one of the Hastings Public Schools. If you do not attend one of our public schools, you will be notified when materials are available for pick up from Tilden Community Center. Online logins will be emailed.

    In this class students will be learning the basic knowledge about sewing and we will create projects from scratch. We will be using hands and sewing machine techniques. All material included.
  • Middle School Learn to Play Badminton

    Join Mr. McGinnis and Mr. Hoffman to learn the game of Badminton. Badminton is a fun racquet game that is played between 2-4 players. Beginner and experienced players are welcome to join in. Registration is required. This course series is offered free to Hastings Middle School students. Thank you to the United Way of Hastings for providing a grant to cover course fees.
  • Middle School Prep: A Spanish Foundation Course! (Live Virtual) (Grades 6-8)

    In this engaging LIVE virtual eight-week class, middle school students will learn essential fundamentals to build a strong base in the Spanish language. Months of the year, telling time, present tense verb conjugations, and sentence structure building are just a few of the topics covered! Lessons are dynamic with interactive activities and visuals, along with cultural lessons.
